Case study.

‘Discover the Taste of Ukraine’.

Ukraine has a great winemaking history but the devastating effects of the Russian invasion has significantly affected the industry. The resiliance of the few wineries who are able to keep producing wine has shone through. In 2023, 15 member wineries established the Wines of Ukraine UK office to support their export market to open up new sales channels. The ultimate aim is to ensure that the Ukranian wine industry survives and thrives.

Island Media’s role:

To create a buzz throughout the trade and media to promote the newly established Wines of Ukraine UK office. To make introductions and start to develop a network of contacts for the Ukranian winemakers and those supporting them.

In October 2023, at Island Media we set ourselves the challenge to deliver Wines of Ukraine’s inaugural UK trade and press tasting at not cost to their UK office or to the individual producers.

Results:

  • 12 x wineries showcased 60 wines (plus Dima’s Vodka from Kyiv)

  • 143 x trade and press guests attended including media, buyers, sommeliers and other influential members of the on and off trade

  • Event organised at no cost to the producers or Wines of Ukraine UK

Tania Olevska – Wines of Ukraine:

“We are enormously thankful to you for organising Wines of Ukraine Trade & Press tasting. You did a great job, impressive promotion and gave us the feeling of home 💛.  So many interesting wine people came to meet us and taste the wines. The atmosphere was so friendly. We are grateful for all the guests and their interest. Thank you for all the encounters! ”
